CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Cedar Falls businessman wants to be let out of jail while awaiting trial in federal court.

Russ Wasendorf, Sr. has been in jail since July after being accused by federal prosecutors of stealing more than $100 million.

Court records show Wasendorf asked for a detention hearing which will be held Tuesday in federal court in Cedar Rapids.

That hearing would set conditions Wasendorf would have to meet if he's released from custody before his trial.

That trial is set for Oct. 15.
