UPDATE: Eastern Iowa toddler drowns in family swimming pool

WHITTIER (KWWL) -

A 2-year-old is dead, after drowning in a family swimming pool in Linn County.  

Authorities were called around 2:30 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 900 block of County Home Road in Whittier on a report of a possible drowning victim.

Rescuers arrived to find 2-year-old Aaron Rickles being removed from his family's swimming pool at the rear of the residence.

Rickles was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital but could not be revived.  Authorities continue to investigate, but say it appears to be an accident.
