IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

In Iowa City tonight-- Waterloo East looks for its first win over The Little Hawks since the Trojans entered the Mississippi Valley Conference two decades ago.

The Little hawks started hot when Tyler Hill intercepted this pass inside the Trojans ten yard line. Three plays later running back Amos Lavela gets in from fourth and inches away, 7-0 City High.

Following a Trojan fumble City High's Tony Perry makes this ridiculous one handed catch good for 16 yards. The following drive Lavela would find the end zone again.

City High tacked on one more score here when Jake Leohr found Xavier Washpun for 45 yards making the score 21-0.

Waterloo East would finally get on the board here with this nice pass from Desmond VanArsdale to Russel Jones covering 68 yards and a touchdown.

Lavela would get his third touchdown of the half, this one from 12 yards away and put the Little Hawks up 35-7 at the break.

The Trojans would play much better in the second half but it was too little too late, City High wins 38-26
