Top ranked Decorah paid a visit to Independence in the 3A District 5 season open for both teams.  Decorah would come out hot.  Drew Schwartz would put the Vikings on the board.  He took the reverse for 25 yards to the end zone for a 7-0 lead.  On the Vikings next possession, Jacob Kvale found Michael Peter for a 35 yard TD to go up by 14.  The Vikings would make it 3 for 3, scoring on their 3rd possession.  Gavin Nimrod ran it in from 25 yards out to go up 21-0.  The Vikings would score again on a 1 yard keeper by backup QB Bryce Pierce to take a 27-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  Josh Lee would add a 21 yard field goal to make it 30-0 at half time.  The top ranked Vikings would go on to win big, 47-0.
