Dike-New Hartford has a habit of always putting a stout defense on the field, and on Friday against South Hamilton, the Wolverines looked to preserve their shutout streak after the 35-0 win over Gladbrook-Reinbeck last week.
The Wolverines brought the thunder early against the Hawks as Carson Parker set up a screen pass to fellow Junior Levi Lynch, which Lynch turned into a 42-yard touchdown, putting D-NH up 7-0 early.
Later in the first quarter, Dike-New Hartford was just laying the hammer on the Hawks, when Terry Mooty bulldozed through the South Hamilton defense for a five-yard touchdown run.
In the second quarter, Mooty, just a Junior on this D-NH team strolled into the end zone from 55 yards out for his sixth touchdown of the season, putting the Wolverines ahead 21-0.
Before halftime, D-NH kicker, Byron Fitch booted an impressive 44-yard field goal to give the Wolverines a 24-0 halftime lead.
Dike-New Hartford went on to finish off the Hawks 34-0, for their second straight shutout this year.
