Marion man accused of secretly videotaping woman at bar

A Marion man has been arrested after being accused of secretly videotaping a woman in the bathroom of a Cedar Rapids area bar.

Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner says that 58-year-old Richard Allen Wessels was arrested on Wednesday on a warrant for invasion of privacy.

Gardner says that Wessels, who is the reported owner of the bar, put a video camera in the women's bathroom at the Rut Bar, 6913 Mt. Vernon Road in rural Cedar Rapids in April of 2011.

Gardner says the camera captured video of the victim in partial or full nudity without her knowledge or consent.

Gardner says that there is only one known victim at this time.
