CORRECTION: Independence man sentenced after guilty plea

INDEPENDENCE (KWWL) -

An Independence man was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty to third degree burglary and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse for an incident in 2011.  

According to online court records, 31-year-old Kenneth Duwe received a five year suspended prison sentence for the burglary charge and a two year suspended prison sentence for the assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse charge.

Records also show that he had $1,375 in fines suspended as well.

Duwe did receive five years probation for each charge.
