WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo man will face tougher criminal charges because of what he said while being arrested after a bar shooting in Waterloo.

53-year-old Roland Ricardo Anderson of Waterloo has been charged with attempted murder after shooting 39-year-old Maurice Stovall on July 22nd.

Police say Anderson yelled that he wished Stovall was dead as he was being put into a squad car.

Court records say Anderson was arguing with a woman outside the bar when Stovall intervened. Anderson walked away but returned later with a gun.

Stovall suffered several wounds from the attack but survived.
