More cops in Cedar Rapids for Labor Day Weekend

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

More police officers are on the roads this Labor Day Weekend.

In Cedar Rapids, the police department received a year-long grant to patrol during holiday weekends.

The department wants to prevent drunken driving as well as other traffic violations.

So far, officers said this weekend didn't seem busier than a non-holiday but weren't sure whether it was because of the extra patrol efforts.
