Rowley motorcyclist taken to the hospital after colliding with a pickup truck

A Rowley man has been taken to the hospital for serious injuries after a pickup truck hit a motorcycle in Linn County.

The Sheriff's Office says it happened at the intersection of Mount Vernon Road and Wilder Drive around 3:50 p.m.

The pickup truck was turning north on Wilder driver and pull out in front of a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 45-year-old Scott Fortner, was taken to Iowa City.

The pickup driver, 75-year-old Arnold Heck, has been cited for making an unsafe turn.
