Waterloo teen arrested for shooting at group of people from car

Waterloo police say they have arrested a 19-year-old for shooting at a group of people from a car on Sunday night.

Captain Tim Pillack says that officers were called to West 3rd Street and Western Avenue at around 9:35 p.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired.

Pillack says that officers discovered that Adnan Alibegic had fired shots from a car at a group of people standing in front of 1106 West 3rd Street.  Officers say the house was hit.

On Sunday, August 26, 2012, at approximately 9:35 PM, Waterloo Police were sent to the area of West 3rd Street and Western Avenue on report of shots fired. Responding officers found that a man in a vehicle had fired several shots at a group of people outside of 1106 West 3rd Street. Officers also found that the house at 1106 West 3rd had been struck.

Alibegic is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, felon in possession of a firearm and carrying weapons. 

Pillack says officers recovered a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun.

The incident remains under investigation and Waterloo police have not released Alibegic's mug shot.
