Solon wins rivalry game 21-11 over Mount Vernon


Mt. Vernon and Solon renewed their heated rivalry in Spartan country marking the inaugural game at Solon's new field.

The Mustangs got things started in the first quarter when Logan Walker scrambled out of the pocket and found Jake Mueller for this 45 yard touchdown pass Mt. Vernon converted a 2 point conversion making the score 8-0.

Solons offense sputtered early on but showed they wouldn't go down easy when running back Tim Lance ran in from 5 yards, conversion failed making the score 8-6 at in the second quarter.

Solon would get on the board once again when Nate Kennedy reached paydirt from 4 yards out, this time Solon converted the conversion to put them up 14-8.

The Spartans would add one more score to make the final 21-11, Solon.
