AMES (KWWL) -

Iowa State University students and faculty are mourning the loss of journalism professor Barbara Mack.

Mack, a Des Moines native, taught journalism law and ethics at ISU for more than 25 years.

She is remembered as a unique individual, enjoying music as starkly different as Beethoven and rap artist Jay-Z.

Mack died at her home Thursday morning. Her husband took her to the hospital Wednesday after she complained of chest and neck pain, but tests came back negative and she was sent home.
