Waterloo police arrest three teens after weapons investigation

The Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crimes Apprehension Team, VCAT, arrested three teens after a weapons investigation at 1104 Williston Avenue.

When officers entered the home at around 8:00 p.m., they say the smelled marijuana and found two .22 caliber rifles along with other items that police determined were stolen from a vehicle in Jesup on Tuesday.

Police also say they found ammunition, marijuana and other items consistent with the sale and distribution of drugs.

As a result, 19-year-old Alexander Butler is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of stolen property/fourth degree theft, carrying weapons and criminal mischief 2nd degree.

Curtis McKenna, 18, is charged with possession of marijuana.

Elliott Roos, 17, was charged with possession of stolen property/fourth degree theft, carrying weapons, criminal mischief 2nd degree and possession of marijuana.

VCAT Officers say that Butler and Roos had fired multiple rounds from the rifles, hitting a vehicle in the 1000 block of Bertch Street early Wednesday morning. 

All three teens were booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
