Despite loss of big stars, Cedar Falls Football ready to contend for MVC title

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Big things are expected of the Cedar Falls football program despite losing some very talented players from a year ago.

The Tigers lost all-staters Barkley Hill and James Harrington from a powerhouse team that advanced to the state semifinal round-- but Cedar Falls returns a lot of talent beginning Iowa Hawkeye recruit quarterback--slash---tightend Ike Boettger and heavily recruited junior offensive lineman Ross Peirschbacher.

And the Tigers also return one of the best coaching staffs in the state led by co-head coaches the legendary Pat Mitchell and Brad Remmert.

Coach Remmert says this team has a winning attitude.

The Tigers open the season against powerful City High at the UNI-Dome on Friday night
