WELLSBURG (KWWL) -

The Grundy County Sheriff's Office says that two teens who ran away from the Iowa State Training School in Eldora have been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary and fire in Wellsburg.

Deputies arrested the two 16-year-old boys at 8:00 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 14.

Sheriff Rick Penning says the boys ran away from the facility before burglarizing the Casey's Store at 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Penning says that after the alleged burglary, the boys went into a trailer at Panama Transfer and started a fire to keep warm.  He says the boys admitted to starting the fire, but thought that it was out before they left.

The trailer fire was reported at 3:30 a.m. Monday and was put out by the Wellsburg Fire Department.  A damage estimate is not available.

The case remains under investigation.
