DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Iowa will be getting $2.3 million in funding for transportation projects.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said there is more than $473 million of earmarked funding that has been used.

He is giving each governor discretion over how to spend that money.

At a press conference Friday, LaHood said that this money would likely create "thousands of jobs".
