University of Iowa Professor Stephen Bloom returns to position

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

University of Iowa professor Stephen Bloom will return to his teaching position at the Adler Journalism Building for the upcoming fall semester.

Bloom received criticism after the controversial article "Observations of 20 Years of Iowa Life" was published in The Atlantic in 2011.

Bloom's article has been criticized for what some call an inaccurate and scathing portrayal of the state of Iowa.

Bloom declined to give an interview to our coverage partners at the Iowa City Press-Citizen, but told a reporter

"My only comment is that I'm looking forward to the school year beginning," he said.
