Panther Picnic introduces campus to freshmen

University of Northern Iowa freshmen got the chance Thursday to learn more about the campus by attending Panther Picnic. Students were able to enjoy free food, games and music by a DJ.

A ferris wheel was brought in as well as bounce houses. Campus organizations set up informational booths to introduce incoming students to the various programs they could join.

According to Cassie Keenan, Campus Activities Board organizer, Panther Picnic is a way for freshmen to get involved outside of the classroom.

"There's stuff to do on campus. That it's not just about school. There's outside activities to get involved in and have fun at the same time while you go to college," Keenan said.

Welcome Week will continue Friday and Saturday night. All students, especially freshmen, are encouraged to attend.
