CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

More counties are lifting their burn bans thanks to the recent rains.

Black Hawk County lifted their burn ban on Thursday at Noon.  Buchanan, Dubuque and Muscatine Counties will lift their bans on Friday morning.

Buchanan and Muscatine's bans will be lifted at 8:00 a.m., Dubuque's will be lifted at 6:00 a.m.

At the height of the drought, 69 of Iowa's 99 counties were under bans.  With the latest announcement, 52 counties will be under burn bans after 8:00 a.m. on Friday.

Fire officials do warn that anyone having a fire should still have safety in mind.  You also urged to check with your city, town or county on rules for open burning in your area.
