Powerball jackpot climbs to $320 million

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A constant stream of people filtered into a Sinclair gas station in Hiawatha, hoping to claim the lucky $320 million Powerball ticket.

Employees say they've seen demand for tickets increase as the jackpot continues to climb.

The $320 million dollar would be the fourth largest in Powerball history.

After 20 workers from Quaker Oats claimed a $241 million prize in June, many hoping for lightning to strike twice in Cedar Rapids.

"You know you've got the Quaker 20 down here that just won, like I said, I'm from La Porte, but I'm in the Cedar Rapids area so I'm buying a ticket down here," said Jeff Calkins.

The largest Powerball jackpot ever was $365 million won by food plant workers in Nebraska in 2006.

UPDATE:
The winning Powerball ticket was sold in Lapeer, Michigan, which is about 40 miles north of Detroit.  The owner has not come forward yet.
