STORY COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Johnathan Mitchell trial in Story County has had a slight delay after because of a prosecutor's medical condition.

Mitchell is accusing of stabbing and killing Cathy Stickley, a cab driver found next to her vehicle in Cedar Rapids in May 2011.

Opening statements were not delivered Wednesday as expected, according to a person at the clerk of court's office in Nevada.  The trial is being held in Story County after a request for a change of venue.

Members of the jury will report back to court Thursday morning.  Jury selection is expected to proceed at that time, depending on the condition of Assistant Linn County Attorney Nic Scott.
