CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
While a large crowd gathered outside Pump Haus in Cedar Falls to catch a glimpse of the President, Katie Hillyer was one of the few inside the restaurant.
Hillyer said the Secret Service had to do a security sweep of the people inside before the President came in. Dogs were also brought in to sniff everyone and their possessions.
"It's awesome to get to meet the President whether you're Republican or Democrat. Whether you love him or hate him, he's the President and it's an awesome experience that I'm just pumped about him, so elated. It's really cool," Hillyer said.
Hillyer, her husband and their friends got a chance to talk and take a photo with the President for about five minutes while he enjoyed a Bud Light.
The President was inside Pump Haus for about 30 minutes before heading to Waterloo for his speech at the Riverloop Amphitheatre.
