Solon drunken driving spree leaves behind trail of damage

A teen joyride in Solon has left behind a trail of damage.

Police arrested 18-year-old Charles Grosvenor early Saturday morning for drunken driving and leaving the scene of a crash.

A gas station security camera at the corner of Main and Market Streets captured a segment of the spree as the pickup truck spun out of control and circled multiple times at the intersection.

Grosvenor's truck allegedly hit the side of a building, knocked over a utility pole and fire hydrant, and was believed to have damaged three trailers at a separate local business.

"Ever since Saturday people have been asking what the heck is going on over here, and I guess it was late night, somebody was having too much fun doing drinking and driving and doing burnies around town," said Steve Moss, manager of RJ'z Express, whose security cameras caught part of the spree.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
