Posted:
GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (KWWL) -

A man already in jail now faces additional charges after apparently plotting to kill his wife and plant drugs in her vehicle.

45-year-old Robert VanNatta is currently being held at the Grant County Jail with previous charges including kidnapping, several counts of having sex with a child under age 16, and enticement.

The Grant County Sheriff's Department says an investigation revealed VanNatta made several calls from the jail to his sister, in connection to paying someone money to plant drugs in his wife's vehicle.  The department also received information he solicited other inmates to kill his wife.

His sister, Sally VanNatta from Dodgeville, Wisconsin appeared in court Monday.

She's scheduled for another court date on August 20.
