Walking for the Green Berets

Posted:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Three people are walking Tuesday for wounded Green Berets and their families.

Mayor Buck Clark, along with some Waterloo Police Officers saw off Melissa Crozier and two others Tuesday morning as they started their trek at the Grout Museum.

They are carrying a ruck sack through Waterloo, Cedar Falls, up to Janesville and then over to Denver.

It's all for a good cause and that is to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation.

"The Green Berets, in particular, they're silent warriors. They don't get a lot of fanfare, but when something happens it's not real wide known so it's extra important that we take care of them because they are not in the spot light," said Crozier.

The goal is to raise $1,000.
