"American Idol" auditions to be held in Iowa City Tuesday

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Hubbard Park will be filled with a symphony of voices Tuesday as people turn out to audition for the reality show "American Idol."

Iowa City is the fifth stop on the show's "Small Town Bus Tour.  The tour's other Iowa audition site was Rock Rapids.  The tour will move on to Bowling Green, Kentucky, Clarksdale, Mississippi, Joplin, Missouri, Dodge City, Kansas and Grand Junction, Colorado.

Auditions will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday and continue into the afternoon, ending at 4 p.m.

Officials say the celebrity "Idol" judges will not be in attendance at this audition. 

Anyone interested must be 15-28 years of age and a parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under 18.
