Ankeny quarterback Joel Lanning has committed to play for Iowa State in the 2013 season.  Lanning chose the Cyclones over an offer from Nebraska.

As a junior he passed for more than 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns while leading the Hawks to the class 4A state semifinals.

Lanning is Iowa State's first in-state commit and 14th over all for the 2013 recruiting class.
