Sweet Corn Festival continues despite rain

The rain didn't give an annual festival a bitter ending.

The 38th St. Jude Sweet Corn Festival in Cedar Rapids continued Sunday.

When the weekend started volunteers at the church had prepared 25,000 ears of corn for the event.

Despite the rain, people still came out to eat and enjoy the rides and games.

"We had two great days Friday and Saturday," said Becky Miller, St. Jude's Sweet Corn Festival Chairperson.  "It's still going to be a success no matter where we end up."

All proceeds raised go back to St. Jude Catholic Church.
