BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -
The Black Hawk County Conservation Board says the Cedar River Natural Resource Area gun ranges will be closed for four weeks so they can make improvements.
The ranges, located at 6520 E. Miller Creek Road, will be closed from Tuesday, August 14 through Monday, September 10, 2012.
Improvements that will be made to the ranges include reshaping the berms and backstops of the 100 yard range, moving the 50 yard range, constructing a 25 yard range and installing target holders and signs.
The board says that interest in the shooting sports has increased in the past two years and they are working to help fill the demand.
The board says the dates are tentative and are subject to change depending on working conditions.
