Six teens charged in 25 Oelwein car burglaries

Oelwein police say six teenagers have been charged in 25 car burglaries that happened between July 24 and July 26.

Police say they received reports from the northeast and southeast parts of Oelwein of car stereos, purses, cell phones, CD's, Ipods, keys, and money being taken from vehicles.  Police say all of the vehicles were left unlocked or unsecured by the owners.

Through their investigation, police determined that two separate groups of teens committed the burglaries.

Hailey Joalan Reaves, 17, of Oelwein, 15-year-old Baileigh Michelle Pauling of Oelwein and 16-year-old Ashley Ann Reson of Fayette have been charged with five counts of burglary to a motor vehicle.

Harley David Bushaw, 16, of Oelwein, 17-year-old Brian Gene Middleton of Hiawatha and 16-year-old Dylan Michael-Lee Vandresar of Cedar Rapids are facing 20 counts of burglary to a motor vehicle.

All have been referred to juvenile court services.
