ANAMOSA (KWWL) -
Anamosa police are trying to figure out what caused an explosion and fire that damaged a garage on Tuesday afternoon.
Anamosa Police Chief Robert Simonson says officers were called to 903 East 2nd Street at around 5:52 p.m. on Tuesday. When they arrived, they found that the garage walls and overhead doors had been blown about two feet from the foundation.
Officers say they found a man sleeping in the basement who had cuts on his hands, arms, neck and face. He was taken to Jones Regional Medical Center before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His condition is not known.
No charges have been filed pending results of DCI lab reports.
