Diesel fuel leak sparks locomotive fire in Hampton

HAMPTON (KWWL) -

A diesel fuel leak sparked a fire on a train in northern Iowa Monday night.

Officials say the crew noticed flames coming from one of the locomotives.

The leak happened as the train traveled through Hampton.

Fire crews were able to put the fire out, and no one was hurt.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
