An Evansdale man wanted by Cedar Falls police was arrested on Wednesday night in Evansdale.
Cedar Falls police say that Evansdale police arrested 18-year-old Austin Mitchell Johnson in the 800 block of Jones Road at around 10:43 p.m. Wednesday.
Johnson was wanted after officers were called to the Clarion Inn on Sunday for a report of a man sleeping in his vehicle. Officers say that when they made contact with the man and identified him as Johnson, he ran toward Waterloo Road.
Police say that an officer who was chasing Johnson injured his shoulder and knee when he jumped from a three to four foot retaining wall. The officer was treated and released from Sartori Hospital, but remains on medical leave.
Johnson was wanted for failing to return to the Residential Facility and Interference with Official Acts causing Serious Injury.
