City of Waterloo votes to buy a historic property

Posted:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

This evening the Waterloo City Council voted in favor of purchasing the Dunsmore house.

The city had debated in previous weeks whether or not to buy this historic Waterloo property.

There were concerns that the house was too dilapidated to restore, but on further inspection, the house's condition was not as poor as anticipated.

The city has not yet voted on the price of the house or when the purchase will be made.

The Dunsmore house will be turned into an African-American history museum.
