A new medical clinic at a U.S. Army post in Colorado has been named in honor of an Iowa native killed in Iraq. The Soldier Family Care Center at Fort Carson will be named after Pfc. Eric Woods.

Woods was killed on July 9th, 2005. He was 26 year old serving as a medic when a bomb went off as he was helping a wounded soldier.

Woods graduated from Urbandale High School.
