Students learn more about Iowa's private colleges

WAVERLY (KWWL) -

Some prospective college students are getting a glimpse at what Iowa's private schools have to offer.

It's Iowa Private College Week. Students from everywhere get a chance to tour Iowa's 29 different schools like Wartburg College. Private schools leaders say they have a lot to offer including small class sizes and leadership opportunities.

They also encourage parents and students to not be shocked by the sticker price.

"We encourage people to check out every institution and not let the initial cost scare them off. Between scholarships, institution aid, state and federal aid many times we can get the cost down," said Todd Coleman, Wartburg Admissions.

Iowa Private College Week runs until August 10th.
