Plane makes emergency landing in field near Elkhart

ELKHART (KWWL) -

A small plane landed in an Iowa soybean field on Sunday after reportedly running out of gas.

Authorities say the plan landed in a field west of Elkhart.

When sheriff's deputies arrived, they found the pilot appeared to be safe, and the plane did not seem to be damaged.

No one else was in the plane.
