Rockwell Collins announced Monday the elimination of 90 jobs cut across the company, with 55 positions cut at the Cedar Rapids plant.
The cuts come primarily from the company's Government Systems operations. About 30 positions were cut at the Carlsbad, Calif. plant, and some of the cuts are in engineering. "Continued declines and delays in defense spending and slower than expected growth in the global economy" were cited as the reasons behind the cuts.
The impacted employees were notified Monday. Pam Tvrdy, Rockwell Collins media contact, says the employees will see a severance package and job assistance to help them with the transition.
