"Rummage in the Ramp" continues through weekend

Posted:

The city-wide garage sale known as "Rummage in the Ramp" continued today in Iowa City.

Instead of throwing things away, people can put furniture, electronics, books, cd's and clothes  up for sale.

The money raised from the sale goes to 32 non-profit organizations in the Iowa City area.

"Rummage in the Ramp is a great effort to not only keep stuff out of the landfill but also to get the money from the profits to all the local community groups," said Jen Jordan the recycling coordinator for Iowa City.

Jordan says they hope to raise $16,000 for charity.

The nine day event continues through Saturday, August 4th at the Chauncey Swan parking ramp directly under the College Street bridge.
