Zach Johnson sits 5th after 3 rounds at the Open Championship

Posted:

Zach Johnson countered Friday's lackluster effort by shooting the best round in the field on Saturday.  The result moved him 14 spots on the leaderboard as he now sits 5th going into Sunday's final.

Johnson had previously fallen from 2nd to 19th over the course of Friday's 2nd round.  Saturday was a different story.  The Cedar Rapids native fired a 3rd round 66 moving him to 5 under par, 6 shots behind leader Adam Scott.  He's also looking up at Tiger Woods who finished 6 under after his 3rd round.

Johnson will join Ernie Els in the third to last group on Sunday.  He'll tee off at 8:10 AM Iowa time.
