UPDATE: No new leads in missing girls case

EVANSDALE (KWWL) -

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins and 10-year-old Lyric Cook.

In Sunday's press conference, FBI spokeswoman Sandy Breault said any person who was at Meyers Lake on Friday July 13th, 3:00 pm or before should call the tipline (319) 232-6682. She said no detail is too small.

Saturday, Breault said they believe that Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook are still alive.

She said some information in the case they can't discuss leads them to believe the girls are still alive.  Breault also said investigators are not getting total cooperation from some members of the missing girls' family.

They say some physical evidence is currently being processed but they are confident the girls are not in Meyers Lake and have stopped searching it as a result.

They did not discuss where the evidence was found or what has caused them to think the girls are still alive.

They did say they are interviewing every person of interest, though they wouldn't reveal any names of who that might be.

There continues to be a $50,000 reward being offered for information leading to the recovery of the girls.

The two cousins have been missing since last Friday afternoon, spurring a massive volunteer search during the weekend.  The girls' bikes were found near Meyers Lake.

The families of Elizabeth and Lyric have said all along that they did not believe the girls were in the water. They believed the girls were abducted.
