Ankeny school district files lawsuit for fraud against Superintendent

The Ankeny school district is claiming fraud and other misdeeds in a recently filed lawsuit against former Superintendent Matthew Wendt.

The lawsuit says Wendt was offered a job in May as superintendent in the Oswego, Illinois school district.

In addition, the lawsuit says Wendt started to negotiate a severance package with the Ankeny district, but did not mention anything about the job offer Ankeny officials one day after receiving the job offer.

the lawsuit requests that the court void a contract provided to Wendt with more than $176,000 if he left the district.
