One dead in single vehicle accident

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

One man is dead after his Ford pick-up was involved in an accident Monday on Central City Road in Cedar Rapids.

Authorities say the vehicle was west bound on Central City Road and went off the road, entered the north ditch area and drove in and out of traffic before resting in a cornfield on the side of the road, just east of Marion Road.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time. The accident is under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
