IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City psychiatrist is facing disciplinary action from the Iowa Board of Medicine after accusations that he had a sexual relationship with a psychiatric patient.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that 49-year-old Sergio Paradiso is scheduled for a hearing with the board in October.

Paradiso was treating the alleged victim in 2010.

He is also accused of encouraging the patient to drink, despite knowing about her history of alcohol abuse.
