North Tama squeaks past Gladbrook-Reinbeck for district title

Posted:

North Tama got one in the 7th to break a 3-3 tie which resulted in a one run district title victory over Gladbrook-Reinbeck.  The final run ended a back and forth affair and pushed the Redhawks into a substate battle against BGM.

North Tama opened the scoring in the fourth with Jacob Wrage scored on the suicide squeeze following a great bunt by Dalton Hulme.  The Rebels countered in the bottom half of the inning with a 2 run blast by Brady Billerbeck.

Billerbeck, however, struggled on the mound in the 6th as 2 Redhawk runs scored on wild pitches as North Tama re-took a 3-2 lead.   G-R tied it up with a sac fly in the 6th, but the Redhawks tally in the 7th would end up being the difference.
