CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The University of Northern Iowa continues to build partnerships with universities in Brazil.

This week, a group of farmers, educators and others involved in agribusiness in brazil toured eastern Iowa.

This visit to Hansen Dairy near Hudson was just one stop that also included Pioneer in Johnston, local farms and agritourism businesses.

Members of the group say farming is much different here than in their country but they say there are some ideas they can take home with them.

"The most important to see here is the way you work. Iowa people work a lot, they research a lot, and they try to take the most of the earth. That's what we need to learn to improve in Brazil," says Juarez Oliveira, a professor at Universidade Federal de Goias.

In addition to the partnership with the University in the Brazilian state of Goias, UNI has struck a different partnership with a university in Sao Paulo.

That will enable UNI students to help in the planning of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.
