ANAMOSA (KWWL) -
A corrections officer has been injured after an attack at the Anamosa State Penitentiary.
It happened Friday night.
Corrections officials say an inmate attacked the officer in an isolated incident.
They say no weapons were used and the incident is still under investigation.
A spokeswoman says the staff member was treated and released from the hospital and the inmate will "be held accountable through the disciplinary process."
The union representing corrections workers say the attack shows staffing levels at Iowa's prisons are too low.
