Waterloo Native to Caddy for Zach Johnson at Deere Classic

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Rapids native Zach Johnson is going to try a new strategy for this week's John Deere Classic.

On Monday, Zach announced his golf coach, Waterloo native Mike Bender, will also serve as his caddie.

Johnson made the announcement at a press conference for his "Birdies That Care" program.

Johnson says the plan this weekend is for Bender, who has served as Johnson's coach for several years, to work his bags to get a better look at his golf game.

The John Deere Classic runs July 12-15.
