PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -

The Denver Cyclones beat 10th ranked BCLUW 2-1 in eight innings in a 2A Regional Final to earn their first ever trip to state.

The game was scoreless through six innings before the Comets scored on a sacrifice fly by Sarah McCoy. Denver's Chelsea Matlack made a great catch against the fence in leftfield to rob McCoy of a homer, but Nicole Montgomery scored the game's first run.

Denver was down to its last out in the bottom of the seventh, when Courtney Ott is safe on a grounder allowing Megan Cashman to score from third to tie the game and send it to an eighth inning. Josie Wolters retired the side for BCLUW in the top of the eighth setting up the game winning heroics.

Denver's Bailey Victoria hit a walk-off, two out single scoring Whitley Matlack to win the game.

Denver faces Durant in the first round game at the state tournament in Fort Dodge next Monday.
